Hello !!

Hey y'all ! WOW we just weathered Hurricane Flo in SC. Praying for all of our friends in SC and NC that are dealing with weather related issues. We are thankful for God's blessing and provision in spite of the storm. We are looking forward to seeing many of you this Fall. HAPPY FALL Y'ALL !

WOW ! It was a busy Summer for Eighth Day..... God continues to do great things within HIS ministry. We have been very hot this summer in Roebuck. SC., so it is a welcomed relief to begin to feel the Fall air. We had a wonderful week at NQC last week. It's like a big ole family reunion to be with all of your friends under one roof for an entire week. There is no SWEETER or more sincere music that Southern Gospel. I am convinced of that !!! Thanks to all of the NQC staff for allowing us to participate in the 60th year Celebration. I'm not sure that the Blackwood Brothers ever dreamed that this event would become THE benchmark, premier event for our industry. We as a team are honored to stand on that stage and share this music that we love so much. There are a lot of talented folks all over the world, however I am amazed that no two people or groups sound the same. We are all unique and equipped by HIM who calls us to do HIS good work. May we NEVER lose sight of that...... HE is the reason we sing. After all these years, I am still praying that I NEVER GET OVER THE CROSS !

We are headed to Dollywood to sing this weekend. We will be in the ShowStreet Theater. Come see us 10/7 and 10/8.....times will be posted.

Please let us know how we can pray for you..... I would ask that you pray specifically for Scotty. He has been diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis and has begun taking some new medications. We are praying of course for minimal side effects and that the meds slow down the effects of the disease. He is a busy, go-getter type personality....YES, Type A all the way. This diagnosis is hard on his mind as well as his joints. We believe in you and we believe in the power of prayer !

It's Summertime !!

Hey y'all !! It's summertime and we are loving this beautiful weather. So many fun things are happening in our lives right now. First of all, we welcome Steve Woodard to our ministry team. Steve and I serve together at First Baptist Spartanburg in the choir and on the Praise Team. We do love our home church family and ministry !! He is an amazing singer and you are going to want to get to a concert soon and help us welcome him. A big shout out to Derek and his wife Karilyn on the purchase of their new home. It is a beautiful house that will be filled with much love and wonderful memories as they raise little Weston there. Congrats !!! Me, Scotty and the boys are all doing well ! We have some fun travel plans for this Summer and Fall. Of course we will flood you with photos :)

Looking ahead, we are excited to announce that we will be returning to Dollywood for the 3rd straight year ! We will be performing in The Showstreet Palace Theatre on 10-7 and 10-8 for several shows each day. We will be having a contest for a chance at free tickets so stay tuned ok ? Also we will be at NQC again this year in Pigeon Forge, TN. We will have a Main Stage performance on Wednesday night September 27th. We are looking forward to catching up with so many of you.

We have released "Shadow of His Hand" to radio and it is doing well all across the country. I'm thankful for the reminder in this song that God is with me everywhere !! HE sees ....HE knows....HE hears .....HE answers.....HE gives Hope ....HE covers me with Grace...... HE gives me strength to stand in every circumstance !! So for now I'll choose to rest in "THE SHADOW OF HIS HAND ".

Hello Spring !!

WOW ! It has been an incredible year so far. Scotty and I have been busy with our work. We had been working on a project for almost 15 months and praise God it's finished !!! I have been blessed to rejoin our church Choir and Praise Team at First Baptist Spartanburg. You can watch those services online weekly at www.fbs.org Amazing Pastor....Amazing leadership...Amazing worship......Awesome God ! Our oldest son got married to, a fellow Naval Officer, Christina Pung. We are beyond thrilled to finally have a daughter !! Our youngest son enrolled at Notre Dame College in Cleveland OH in January. Yea we live in SC and that is a LONGGG way from home. We have all adjusted well and now he is preparing for final exams. Prayers appreciated ......ha !! Derek, Karilyn, and Weston are all doing well. Weston is growing every day and is so stinkin cute !! Monty and his girls are doing great. His youngest daughter has been on 2 mission trips to Haiti and loves being Jesus in the flesh to those little children. His older daughter is studying Special Education. His wife Stacy is one of my lifelong best friends ....just love and appreciate all of our ministry team so much !!

We will be at Singing in the Sun next week. It's not too late to join us ......come on !! The ocean is calling and Christ will be in the midst. We pray you have had a wonderful Spring and Easter weekend. HE Is risen indeed !

I recently had the privilege of hearing the group "Eighth Day" in concert. Wow, what a night of great gospel music! Their awesome sound and incredible harmonies are only surpassed by their love for the Lord and glorifying Him through song and testimony. I strongly recommend that you schedule them to share with your congregation as soon as possible. I can't wait to have them back at First Baptist Church Spartanburg again in the very near future!!
